Download Folder - Windows

What is in my download and how to access my new files - WINDOWS

Accessing your artwork, and a brief overview explanation to the files you have downloaded from The Crafty Witches

How do I get to the artwork to see it and print it?

Once you have downloaded your collection and have unzipped the files, you’ll be cackling with joy at the prospect of creating some magic.

First of all let us look at the files that are in the folder;

AutoPlay -

This folder is where all the pdf files & images are stored, and can be accessed manually for those with operating systems that does not support the ‘Autorun’ platform

Autorun [with disc icon] -

The magical Windows based software platform that will become your ‘familiar’ and where you can find the elements of your collection

Autorun [with gear icon] & ‘.dll’ extension files–

These are system files, that the ‘Autorun’ needs to operate. You need not concern your self with them at all. However please ensure if you are transferring your collection to another location, you make sure you transfer ALL the elements into the same folder as you see above, else the program will not function.

Autorun – the first run

If this is the first time you have used this particular kit, there is a couple of things that we may need to take care of first:

OK so firstly,

[Always loved Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy]

This screen only shows because there are some nefarious individuals out there who wishes ill will to others and hide their malicious programs inside autorun programs. The Crafty Witches can assure you the program we send you is completely safe.

Click the ‘More info’ link.

The screen will change slightly giving you more options, The ‘Unknown publisher’ appears simply because The Crafty Witches will not be a recognised partner of Microsoft, hence why this message pops-up at all.

Again, we can assure you the program is safe, and you may go ahead and click the ‘Run anyway’ button that has appeared at the foot of the box.

You will not need to do this again with this kit on this PC/Laptop. However, if you try to run the program on another Windows PC/Laptop, this will pop-up again, just follow the same process to access your artwork.

Similarly, you will need to carry out this process each time you download a new kit from us.

All you need do now is click on your desired papers, and they will open in your default Portable Document Format (pdf) reader. Remember to click the ‘Next’, ‘More information’ and ‘Exit’ buttons to navigate through the collection.

I don't have the next or exit cauldrons, how do I fix it?

Depending on your screen settings there is a possibility you will have to change either your screen resolution to 1920x1080* and the screen zoom to no more than 125%*

Win 10 – Windows logo – Settings (gear) – System – Display

Win 11 – Windows logo – Settings (gear) – Display

*1920x1080 is an optimal setting, and can be affected by the screen size & shape, and graphics capability of both the graphics card or monitor, (note the Win 11 example is set to 1280x800, as the screen used in this particular example is at it’s maximum range). If you are in any doubt please consider contacting your system administrator, vendor or the support section of the relevant device website for more information.
