Unzipping on Apple Mobile iOS

Extracting an archive (Unzipping) - iOS

[Please note, different versions of Android and other installed software may make your screen look different to this guide, however in most cases the facility will be there perhaps under a different menu]

You may find a better way to carry this process out, we’d be delighted to hear from you at hello@thecraftywitches.co.uk

When you go to view your files in iOS the system acts as a decompressor as well as a system viewer, basically the device(s) unzips as they view, so this process is not an issue for Apple handheld device users

So how do I access the useable and printable pages then?

Click on the zipped file to access the files, then

Click the ‘Preview content’

1 – Click on the file menu tree

2 – From the resulting folder tree, click ‘Autoplay’

3 – Click on the ‘Docs’ folder

Ignore any of the other folders and files, their purpose is simply to satisfy the Windows Autorun program and are incompatible with your device(s)

Getting Crafty with the files

Once you have opened the Docs folder, your iOS device will show little thumbnails of the printable content, so you can browse through the content on-screen (see the illustration above)

Once you have clicked to open the desired file, you may wish to return to the menu tree (left red arrow), or continue to print (right red arrow)

Locate and select the ‘Print’ icon

Select your printer, quantity and print

NB: Ensure your phone/tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as otherwise your printer will not receive the instruction; (Some printer manufacturers allow printing from 3/4/5G connections, however it is advised to check with the printer manufacturers manual and/or your device instructions for further details)

Some of the options available via your mobile device may not be compatible with your printer
