Magical Mandalas
We just wanted to add a little more to enhance your enjoyment of these fabulous mandala files. The following relates specifically to the free Mandala cutting files and are over and above the instructions and recommendations for the paper kits
Why is there so many files for the one mandala?
We have intentionally added more content for you to have a play around with. Whilst we fully respect and understand that those versant in the use of Canvas Workspace will more than likely see this as overkill, it does give the individual who doesn't want getting to grips with the Canvas platform an opportunity to do different things.. Here, let us explain a little:
Lets just say you find a file that has SVG's for it called
01.svg
01+1.2svg
01+5.svg
01+5+1.2.svg
01.svg: 01 is the design number ie; the single mandala. This file is a exact, tight fit to the design and will cut to the line.
01+1.2.svg: This one has a border, or offset if you prefer of 1.2mm, this allows a little wiggle room, and will give an added space around the line.
01+5.svg: When you see this, (and it could be any other number depending on the distance of the offset in mm), this means the original mandala has a solid design, but will also have dots or similar embellishment around it. The '+5' variant allows you to cut out the full mandala with the dots, where as the standard 01 won't include that. Any designs that do not have the additional embellishment around the main design won't be offered with the +3,4,5 etc as they are not required.
01+5+1.2.svg: This file serves the same purpose as the 01+1.2.svg file. This gives a border around what would be the normal perimeter cut.
Couldn't I just do this myself using the cwpf file and add another offset?
Absolutely you could, and we'd love to see what you create using this feature, but we decided to include some ready made for those who don't want to learn Canvas and just want to #getlostinthedoing.
I wouldn't mind finding out more about this, can you help?
Yes, drop a post in Creative Friends, there are actually quite a community of electronic cutting machine users in there who will only be too glad to help you.
Similarly YouTube is absolutely packed with users of various levels who can guide you through resizing, creating, rhinestoneing, drawing, foiling, and vinyl cutting too. The electronic cutting world is a whole universe in its own right.
Pop on over to our Help Files page, there is direct links to the most popular cutting machine manufacturers, and their dedicated software for you to look at.
Sorry, boring note to ensure clarity
