Download from WeTransfer

Downloading my purchases - WeTransfer

How to get the files on my computer

What is WeTransfer?

WeTransfer is a trusted file hosting platform that allows larger files, which would be impossible to email, to be placed on the ‘cloud’ and a link sent to the recipient to allow them to click and download to their home devices. It is free to use for the receiver, and whether or not the folders/files are uploaded in a compressed/zipped format or not, the receiver will download them compressed for security and convenience reasons.

Why do you use it?

When we need to transfer a file to you, outside the normal ‘purchase off the website’ process, this is the best, and most secure way to do so. We respect that you may never have used this, or any similar platform so take a look at the following steps and you will understand how easy it is. When we use this facility, we will email you the details of the download to expect with a link directly to it on this platform.

What do I do with this link?

If this is your first visit to WeTransfer, once you click on this link you will be brought to the following screen:

Like many websites, you will need to accept cookies to gain access.

Click the ‘I accept’ button and move on to the next screen.

Again, only on your initial visit you will need to click ‘I agree’ to their terms and conditions to allow you to use their platform. Don’t worry it’s just the usual disclaimer that you won’t use their platform for illegal reasons.

After your first visit you will automatically arrive here, with the Crafty Witches splash screen, and an information box identifying the file you are about to download as well as a ‘Download’ button.

How do I save my download?

Depending on the device, it’s operating system and your browser this will look different here, suffice to say, whatever device you use it is likely you will know where this will end up but in general terms you’ll need to hit the folder icon and find the folder ‘Downloads’ where you can find your download ready to unzip/decompress:

I have questions!

·        My download the other day took moments, why is my Pollyanna one taking forever?

Yes, that may be correct. Looking back at your previous question, it’s to do with the size of file, and your internet connection speed. Check out the help file ‘Large Downloads’ in the library.

·        You talk about unzipping, and decompressing what is that about?

This process and format is the best way to deliver multiple files securely and the best way to ensure no data is removed or lost in the process. Check the ‘Unzipping’ guides, to find all you need to know.
